The journal Place Publique devotes a fine article to Adrien Morel's two books. It summarizes the author's thought very well, as follows: "God is... the name that humans have given to the unconscious... In the sense of a 'supernatural' force that acts on us without our knowledge. Except that this force is not transcendent since it is within us, purely human." Adrien Morel corrects this: this force is indeed transcendent in relation to human consciousness, but this transcendence is within us.
