Our authors
Thinkers committed to the development and transmission of the humanities
Éditions du Promontoire publishes only authors whose work strictly adheres to the school of thought of clinical anthropology. They impose upon themselves the constraint of respecting an experimental verification process. Every process, every mechanism, every concept, every entity must be quantitatively and qualitatively validated by an experimental protocol grounded in clinical practice. This is the only way to claim to contribute to the development of the human sciences. Their publications constitute a body of fundamental research, accompanied and complemented by works intended for teaching and knowledge transmission. The objective is to provide citizens of modern societies with accessible and effective tools to shed light on the major issues facing our time, thus enabling them, with full knowledge of the facts, to take control of civilization.
Adrien Morel
Writer, epistemologist and theorist
Founding author of Éditions du Promontoire, Adrien Morel believes that the breakdown affecting contemporary societies is largely due to the fact that our fellow citizens do not have the right tools to think about society and its difficulties. For him, all ideologies are obsolete, and it is urgent to move beyond them. Only the human sciences make it possible to move beyond ideologies. He therefore devoted his first works to popularising the human sciences for the widest possible audience, before developing, in his later books, a body of fundamental research.
Books by
God & Man
By stripping religion of its supernatural dimension, the sciences of man reveal its true meaning.
Science of Man & Human Professions (Vol. 1)
It is not its object that determines the type of a science, but the way in which it apprehends it.
Science of Man & Human Professions (Vol. 2)
All sorcerers since the dawn of time have been able to identify the effects of a plant and transmit that knowledge.
Science of Man & Human Professions (Vol. 3)
Adrien Morel explores the distinction between the general and the universal in order to extend his reflection on the foundations of the humanities. He shows that this confusion influences both research and society, particularly in the fields of care and politics, and calls for these logics to be overcome in order to refound a truly universal humanism.
The Future of Religion in Secular Societies
For Adrien Morel, if religion defines and constitutes civilization, it also ensures its maintenance. What becomes of a civilization that no longer has a religion? Can societies without religion even exist?
Elements of Ontology
The succession of ontonomies, or civilizations, since the beginnings of humanity, is part of a movement, a process of refinement. Everything is in place for the naturalist ontonomy, established since the Renaissance, to give way to the one that must succeed it.
Elements of Glossology
In this book, the author continues and completes the restoration of the Theory of Mediation model, begun in his previous work. This restoration is necessary because the TdM model was affected by a structural flaw.
The Structuring of Being
Adrien Morel unfolds his model by exploring the structuring of being, from the subatomic to the transcendent.
Ideological Knowledge, Fundamental Knowledge & Applied Knowledge
In this book, Adrien Morel establishes and organises the different dimensions of knowledge and disciplines.
Elements of Ergonomics
The author continues his exploration and restoration of the Theory of Mediation by addressing the human faculty of the Tool.
Elements of Axionomy
Here, Adrien Morel models the human faculty of Norm by reorganising the entire Freudian corpus. In doing so, it gains a spectacular epistemic added value, while anthroponomy receives the support of experimental clinical verification.
Jean Luc Lamotte
Anthropologist and essayist
Agrégé in classical literature and anthropologist, Jean-Luc Lamotte devoted his life to research and to the transmission of the human sciences. His work, nourished by the Theory of Mediation, contributes to a rigorous scientific approach to the human being and to the dissemination of structured thought, accessible to readers wishing to deepen their understanding of anthropological foundations.
