Since the attacks in France in early January, many of you have discovered the books of Adrien Morel, and we thank you for that. For the past six years, Adrien Morel has published six books exploring the relationships between religion, civilization, politics, and even science. He deliberately advocates for a revised secularism, informed by the insights that the humanities now offer into religion, politics, morality, and spirituality. In these works, Adrien Morel argues that the problem with our civilization is its secularism. That is to say, the initial conception of secularism, ideologically contemporaneous with the early, supernaturalistic conceptions of the religions from which it claimed to distance itself. The result is evident in this clash of obscurantisms. It is time we moved beyond this, and we are pleased to no longer be alone in thinking this. We are saddened by the passing of Marie-Anne Beltramini on Friday, February 28th. Marie-Anne designed the website for Éditions du Promontoire as well as all the books we published. Editions du Promontoire was created to introduce and promote the New Anthropology, as our loyal readers know. To this end, we publish exclusively works in the humanities that fall within this theoretical framework. However, we are now expanding our publishing activities. In response to requests from authors who submit their manuscripts for publication, we have decided to create a new collection entitled "Literature." Within the humanities, we will continue to publish only New Anthropology. And in literature, we will publish our personal favorites. Novels, short stories, poetry—any work that captivates us will find its place. We are launching this collection with a novel by Odette Julé, entitled "That Evening." A beautiful love story to share openly and without reservation. "That Evening" is a perfect gift for your fiancée or your mother for the next special occasion: birthday, holiday, etc. Or better yet, you can give it to her simply to show her your affection. I never thought I'd have the pleasure of hearing one of our young "intellectuals" express such clear, luminous views, a synthesis full of value, opening the doors to the future (if we so choose...). This is true philosophy, the kind that is useful to everyone, nourishment for the mind in perfect language... In recent years, the most original texts have come to us from North America, Canada in particular... Finally, a glimmer of light shines here... This Adrien is an initiate (does he know it?). His modesty prevents him from worrying about it... This text needs to be listened to again, in segments, meditated on, and absorbed... So thank you... and gratitude also to the publisher.

The author visited the "Le Forum du Livre" bookstore in Rennes on May 29th to sign copies of his new book, "Propos sur l'homme" (Reflections on Man). Most of the readers who came were already familiar with his work. However, the signing also provided an opportunity to meet some new readers, particularly students.
Jean-Luc Lamotte's new book, "Propos sur l'homme" (Reflections on Man), is finally available. You can order it either directly from our website or from your local bookstore. Also subtitled "L'anthropologie de Jean Gagnepain" (The Anthropology of Jean Gagnepain), this work follows in the same vein as his previous book, "Introduction à la Théorie de la médiation" (Introduction to Mediation Theory). The author addresses a number of social issues in light of mediation theory, illustrating it in action, as it were, while addressing a broad audience and introducing them to the theory. Those already familiar with Jean-Luc Lamotte will find his characteristic verve and oratorical style in "Propos sur l'homme." Readers who are not yet acquainted with him will have the opportunity to discover them with great pleasure.
In its May 2010 issue, the magazine devoted an article to the presentation of Adrien Morel's book "Atheism: End of Religion or Future of Religion?", concluding with these words: "This simple and dispassionate work has the merit of dusting off a debate too often hampered by outdated positions." We can only endorse this analysis, which perfectly summarizes the author's intention and approach.

Adrien Morel participated in the third edition of the Rue des Livres book fair in Rennes (35000). Surprisingly, the Rennes public is very conservative on the subject of religion. For two days, Adrien Morel was approached by representatives of the entire spectrum of positions he is precisely trying to move beyond. These included the physicist who identifies with scientism, the philosopher who swears only by the "transcendental ego," various historians and sociologists of religion, not to mention a host of bigots and virulent anticlerics. In short, the whole range of opinions, which he considers historically outdated, and which the author specifically proposes to move beyond.
Adrien Morel was at the Parthenay Book Fair (79200) on February 6th and 7th, 2010. A very well-organized fair, run by an extremely dynamic and friendly team of volunteers. Many opportunities to meet authors and readers – a fair just the way we like them.

The journal Place Publique devotes a fine article to Adrien Morel's two books. It summarizes the author's thought very well, as follows: "God is... the name that humans have given to the unconscious... In the sense of a 'supernatural' force that acts on us without our knowledge. Except that this force is not transcendent since it is within us, purely human." Adrien Morel corrects this: this force is indeed transcendent in relation to human consciousness, but this transcendence is within us.
